Tensile Structure?
Tensile structure is the term usually used to refer to the construction of roofs using a membrane held in place on steel cables. Structurally, the system is formalized by combining three elements: membranes, rigid structures such as poles, and masts, and cables. Common membrane materials include PVC, PVF, or PTFE. However, in the case of small tensile structures such as tents, event tents, or commercial tents, PVC and PP can be used as well if proper treatments are applied.

Since tensile fabric structures and tents are exposed to outdoor environments, it is crucial to implement a high level of resistance to weathering. Our R&D center has tested the effects of UV exposure, weather changes, and high and low temperatures on Tentation® products through ASTM and DIN-certified testing methods and years of field tests. WONPOONG is dedicated to constant research and has developed the optimal compounding mixture for manufacturing tensile fabrics that are highly flexible, yet exceptionally resistant to cracking. Furthermore, Tentation® products are not only remarkably resistant to UV and weather, but also equipped with an advanced self-cleaning system. It provides a protective barrier that repels dust, dirt, grime, and water, preventing liquid droplets from causing stains. In comparison to regular lacquered products, materials using the self-cleaning system are significantly easier to maintain.
